Fanatical about Fiestas - Forget the late-night flick, popcorn, and the frustrating sticky floor, these passionate petrolheads have got that Friday feeling and want to thrash their bonnet-busting Fiestas around Bruntingthorpe.

Richard Meehan - XTW 46X - Supersport

This sleek black super midget has been on the classic Ford scene for a while now. It had a full magazine feature some 16 years ago, which Richard shows us proudly. Richard's owned XTW twice, the first time round as a non-runner with the driver-side front wi smashed in. Richard lowered the suspension and put a 1600 head in it with matching gearbox. Then he sold it to his mate Wayne. Wayne then sold it on to someone in the Isle of Wigh who sold it to their brother's girlfriend, then Brian bought it.

"It was all girly to look at," says Brian. "It had this huge Monroe chrome gearknob and stupid pink doorpins and pinky chrome alloy door handles." He changed the locks and ignition barrel and worked on the body before swapping the solid brake discs for vented versions.

The Supersport also has XR2 tie-bars on the front now and poly bushed rear arms. Then Richard bought the car back. "He's changed the back seat," says Brian. "It badly needed a retrim. He's a proper buff and had the gear to do it."
