Power Profile 8 - Ford Fiesta - Discover the tuning potential behind Ford's top seller.

For a first attempt at a sub-compact front wheel drive car, Ford did a pretty good job with the Fiesta. Not only has it become a top seller amongst strong competition, but it is also one of the most sought-after secondhand cars on the market. The reasons for this should be fairly obvious, spares are no problem, they're reasonably cheap and therefore running costs are low. Besides offering the above, the range includes a selection of well tried and proven powerplants, including the 950, 1100 and 1300cc crossflow engines.

Throughout the years a whole gaggle of different models have been introduced to help keep the car in the limelight, and have included such versions as the Sandpiper, Firefly, Kingfisher, Festival, and Bravo. These models were in addition to the range which at the time of writing includes the 950cc Popular and Popular Plus 1100cc Popular 1100cc Sport, and Ghia, 1300cc GL, 1300S and 1300 Ghia. Two economy version with revised 3rd and 4th gear ratios are the latest additions, while the recently introduced XR2, which as you'll.....
