PRICE NEWS
Fiesta prices are announced this week and Ford has raised the prices of its other cars by an average of 6.8 per cent. Honda cars cost 5.5 per cent more and the Mercedes-Benz range goes up by an average of 6.5 per cent. The cheapest Escort, the 1100 Popular, goes up £121-7.2 per cent, to £1799 but it costs less than the basic Fiesta at £1856. Top model in the Fiesta range, the 1117 cc engined Ghia, costs £2757.

These insurance group ratings are those compiled by the Accident Offices Association and are meant only as a guide. Some companies may rate particular cars higher or lower than they appear here and in certain instances importers have organised special, lower-rate insurance for drivers of their cars.
